BUFFALO GROVE, IL – Profile Products recently announced the achievement of an enviable safety milestone for its Blue Mountain, Mississippi production facility: fifteen consecutive years without a single lost-time accident. The milestone, a record for the company, was reached on March 22, 2017 and will be celebrated with several company events.

“At more than 1.4 million production hours and counting, the exceptional record at our Blue Mountain plant is a testimony to the strong and ongoing emphasis on safety promoted not only by the facility’s management, but also by our employees themselves,” said John Schoch, CEO of Profile Products. “We’re extremely proud of the safe work practices that have become part of the DNA of Blue Mountain.”

 Profile Products’ Blue Mountain facility mines, processes, and distributes clay used in many of the company’s turf and soil management products. Through its global network of distributors, Profile Products supplies materials to golf courses, landscapers, sports facilities, and other commercial and residential customers.

The Blue Mountain facility, under the ownership of Profile Products since 1986, has a history of safety awareness. To ensure its nearly 50 employees remain up-to-date on safety procedures, the company conducts daily safety briefings and biweekly safety meetings. Monthly safety inspections are also conducted to check machines for deficiencies and to certify employees have safe access to equipment.

“Safety is a team effort at Blue Mountain. Our culture, now in place for over 30 years, is ingrained in our daily activity,” noted Dwight Schipke, Director of Manufacturing Operations. “Every employee watches out for the other person—but what’s more, new employees are continually encouraged and informed by our seasoned workers to follow safety practices. There are no short cuts. Safety meetings are important—but daily reinforcement keeps safety top-of-mind and relevant.”

Profile Products’ Blue Mountain manufacturing facility is one of four owned by the company. Profile’s other plants can be found in Conover, North Carolina, Limestone, Tennessee, and Canton, Ohio.

Blue Mountain’s 15-year milestone will be celebrated with a recognition ceremony and company luncheon.
