Turface Athletics® in partnership with the Jeff Langner, business manager for Tuface Athletics; scholarship recipients: Dave Beccaria – Haverford College and J. Keith – Watson Chapel High School; award recipients: Jeffrey Brown – Woodstock High School, Ryan Strickland – Thomas County High School and Ryan Duffey and associate from Jackson High School. American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) recognized the winners of the 2019-2020 Field Maintenance Awards and Scholarships at the annual convention in Nashville, Tennessee.

The maintenance awards highlight outstanding field maintenance at the high school and college levels, while the scholarships provide assistance to two schools in need of field improvements.

The winners of the Field Maintenance Awards are a trio of Georgia high schools: Jackson High School, Thomas County Central High School and Woodstock High School. Each school will receive one ton of Turface® MVP infield conditioner and $400 to be spent on maintenance equipment from Turface Athletics.

Haverford College in Haverford, Pennsylvania, and Watson Chapel High School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, received the Field Maintenance Scholarships in the college and high school divisions, respectively. The two schools will each receive three tons of Turface® MVP and a total of $500 over the next two years for use on maintenance equipment from Turface Athletics.

“Turface Athletics has a long history of educating sports field managers, coaches and volunteers to keep fields of any size safe and playable for the athletes using them,” said Jeff Langner, business manager for Turface Athletics. “The annual awards help showcase and celebrate fields that are maintained at the highest level, while providing assistance for schools that lack the necessary resources to make field improvements.”

All of the winning schools were recognized on January 5, 2020, at the annual ABCA Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. Another highlight of the ABCA Convention was a session on field maintenance at high-profile facilities led by Nick McKenna, assistant athletic fields manager for Texas A&M University.
