Turface® Athletics Supports the ValleyCat's Annual '4 in 24' Field Renovations Project
BUFFALO GROVE, IL – Turface® Athletics, a leader in the sports field construction and maintenance industry, announces a partnership with The Tri-City ValleyCats to support the 8th annual ‘4 in 24’ Field Renovation Project held on April 11th 2018.
An ambitious initiative, over the course of twenty-four hours, the ‘4 in 24’ project renovates four local youth playing fields; this year the four leagues that received the work included American Little League in Albany, Cairo-Durham Little League, Scotia-Glenville Girls Softball, and Round Lake Malta Youth Baseball.
With donations from Turface Athletics through local distributor, SiteOne Landscape Supply, the project was able to complete the overhaul of these four fields to provide safer, more playable sports fields for local youth teams. The donations from Turface enabled each field to have pitcher's mound and home plate areas completely rebuilt, the infield surface leveled, graded and raked, and the baselines measured and cut to the correct specifications.
“The work of the ValleyCats to continually improve and empower youth leagues is commendable, and we’re proud to play a small role in supporting the ‘4 in 24’ project each year,” comments Turface Athletics Brand Manager Jeff Langner. “We understand that it takes a lot of work to maintain these fields, and it’s extremely rewarding to see the community rally together and provide extra support to the leagues that need it.”
The project is also supported by ValleyCat partners BlueShield of Northeastern New York and Hannaford Supermarkets, which helped to supply the necessary resources and volunteer commitment to complete the renovations.
"The ‘4 in 24’ initiative has been ambitious from day one, and each year we continue to see a growing need and demand for the work we’re doing,” said ValleyCats General Manager Matt Callahan. “Now in its eighth year, and 30 plus leagues later, the support of our partners allows us to continue assisting local leagues, making an enormous positive impact on many youth baseball players.”
